Description

Award of a Call-Off Contract under the Prison Education Dynamic Purchasing System for a Demolition course for Prisoners at HMP/YOI Isis.
The Contract will deliver to deliver an accredited industry standard
Certificate of Competence of Demolition Operatives (CCDO) demolition course with added Construction Skills Certification Scheme (CSCS), Construction Industry Training Board (CITB) Health & Safety.

For accredited courses the supplier shall have Direct Claims Status (DCS).


The supplier shall deliver 4 courses during the contract term.

Each course shall accommodate up to 12 learners.

At the end of the course prisoners shall be fully registered and will be provided with a photo ID card prior to release which acknowledges course completion.

The course shall develop an understanding of the opportunities and challenges that self-employment on release shall present for learners.

The course shall allow learners to create a business plan with specialist help and advice.

It should cover the following:
- Personal characteristics for self-employment
- Potential barriers to self-employment and solutions/guidance
- Communication and team working
- Decision making
- Time management
- Explain and present the business idea and examine strength and weaknesses
- Identify the product / service
- Identify potential customers
- Marketing and advertising opportunities
- How to create and present a business plan
